  1. Sweet. It’s like getting killed by ten million pounds of sludge from New York and New Jersey.

Here’s a factoid, I graduated from the same high school Frank attended, back in the day when he got interested in the music of Larry Norman (God is currently resting his soul).

    • Hahahaha, FJ!! I’m expecting some photo mash-ups over on your blog! 🙂

    • If there’s anything New Yorkers can agree on, it’s that New Jersey should be filled with New York’s sludge.

Small world, eh? All I know about Larry Norman I learned from Frank Black/Black Francis interviews. Norman’s use of the word “pilgrim” makes me think he may have been a John Wayne fan.

      Thanks for the visit, RXJ/FJ/H

  2. This selection was SO GOOD I almost cried. This veered off into my ‘danger zone’ Capitalist…truly RELAPSE SHIT!!! It’s almost too good to handle sober!! YOUR…BEST…SELECTION…EVER (that and the Nattymari post). Makes me regret I wasn’t introduced to this music when my neuronal network was in its plastic phase.

    • Thanks, elizabeth. As usual, your praise is somewhat overwhelming (but appreciated!) and I feel the need to deflect it towards the musicians and remixers that actually did all the legwork.

I’m also happy to see that you’ll be returning to this page repeatedly, if your string of one word + ellipsis comments are any indication.

Thanks again for the compliments, elizabeth.

  3. I…

  4. have…

  5. bookmarked…

  6. this…

  7. page!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  8. I was to busy being clever to say the music was boss dude. So, there’s that motherfucker.

    • No worries, FJ. Actually, your opening word was “Sweet,” so I think you had it covered already. Although it is kind of fun to have a MPD comment thread now and then.

  9. Shit, I am FJ. I may have to return as Harmony to complete the trifecta.

    • Ha! I’ve done it a few times myself, FJ. As has MEK.

  10. Normally, I hate music, but this collection has merit. In fact, I haven’t had this much fun since I whipped Kim Deal in an arm wrestling match in Boston some years ago.

Now, where was I? Did I mention I hate golfers?

    • Kim Deal, eh? You must have gone one-on-one with her famed “heroin arm.” A few years later, I think she donated that to Kelly Deal who hasn’t let go of it since.

You hadn’t mentioned you hate of golfers, but now that you have, I’m curious: what do you have against Alice Cooper?

  11. Trifecta…

  12. Completed!!!

  13. You mentioned having an MDP comment thread. I assume now it means multiple personality disorder, but at first I thought it meant the Minneapolis Police Department. So add paranoia to the list.

    • Your second assumption is right. But that’s no reason to drop that healthy sense of paranoia.

  14. Doh! Make that MPD…so add dyslexia to the thread as well.

  15. This has become completely anal retentive hasn’t it…DON”T LOOK AT ME.

    • No one’s looking at you. That’s just the paranoia gniklat…
